A Final Fantasy 14 Roleplaying Community
This carrd is for information regarding the Xaela server. We host a community of collaborators to help create and promote Au ra roleplay in the Final Fantasy 14 community. Please explore below!

We do welcome non-Xaela here!
This server is a hub for those who enjoy Au ra and Steppe roleplay. Themes will heavily interact with Xaela, but we encourage characters from all walks of life to enter. We are not limited to engaging in roleplay that takes place solely on the Azim Steppe. Au ra are native to Othard, Illsabard, and the Near East as a whole, so we also have events and characters that happen in these areas.
We are diligent at Xaela in engaging in awareness, respect and consideration of the real-world cultures the Au ra are based on. Although they are a fictional race, the inspiration for them is held in regard at all times during roleplay.Eurasian steppe cultures have historically been subjected to racism from settled societies who considered them to be savage or uncivilized. Xaela are not the exact same as real life Eurasian steppe cultures, and they also are not animalistic for having scales, horns, and tails. Do avoid perpetuating these harmful stereotypes when referring to the Xaela as a whole.
We do not allow NSFW material in our server. With that said, the server is still 18+ and we will remove anyone who may be lying about their age. Any explicit content with Lalafell or underaged characters will be an immediate permaban from all Xaela activities, including our associates.
Lorebending is acceptable within reason. We are not lore-strict, but we do ask your character make sense in the setting. A character that is from another game universe or completely lore breaking would not be allowed.
Zero racism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, sexism, or other prejudice or bigoted behavior will be tolerated. This is a LGBT+ friendly space.

The lore of the Azim Steppe references the shamanistic belief system of 'tengerism' and Tsagaan Sar itself. Tsagaan Sar ("white moon") is Mongolia's Lunar New Year. It isn't tied to the Chinese calendar so it does not necessarily fall on the same date. It is a time when the world's spirits briefly leave for the upper world (on the eve) and come back refreshed (on Tsagaan Sar). It is a time of positivism, of putting aside differences and with no conflict. There are rituals, blessings, feasts and communal activities (with family). On the eve of Tsagaan Sar (called "Bituun") people tend to stick to their homes because of superstitions, this is to not invite any lingering bad spirits."Are you living peacefully?/Amar baina uu?" is a common Tsagaan Sar greeting.
